Part of Central Michigan University, the Clarke emphasizes the history of Michigan, the Northwest Territory, children's literature, and the history of Central Michigan University. The Library also has an extensive collection of Michigan newspapers.
Early Canadiana Online collection of rare books, magazines and government publications has over 80,000 titles (3,500,000 pages) and is growing. The collection includes material published from the time of the first European settlers to the first four decades of the 20th Century.
The Local History Archives is a project of the Grosse Pointe Public Library to collect, digitize, and disseminate historical materials. Here, you will find newspapers since 1923, Heritage Magazine from 1984-1990, several books, photographs, and maps.
